The Cure (for pets)

Better than Elvis
I'm excited for three reasons this week. First, my new picture is a hit. Half of you hate it, half of you love it, and half don't care. I'll wait for more responses before I decide what to do. Check out the survey page (opens in a new window) to vote for or against the new me, but be sure to come right back.

Like Stamps, But Different
Second, I'm excited that that I get to grace the front of a mew set of web link buttons. I realize that you can barely contain your curiosity, but remember that curiosity killed the cat--and I know you're smarter than a dumb ol' cat... Try to restrain yourselves and visit the button gallery after you're done here.

A and B
The third reason I'm excited this week is that I get to interview Brenda Adderly. I didn't know who she was either. But she is half of the writing team that produced The Arthritis Cure for Pets. The other half is Brian Beale, one letter away from being a relative. (Don't think about it too long; it's Beagle. Now get on with your life.)

Now as we all know, "cure" is a pretty heavy word to be lifting around us arthritics, especially the ones of us with four knees and an insatiable urge to lick our balls.

Anyway, I'm feeling young again because I'm figuring that this human doesn't know much about the real animal arthritis, and I get to bark at her about it with full immunity.

The book's cover has a picture of a dog not unlike me in my less cynical, more pain-free years, along with a simpy feline at my feet -- where it would not be in real life. But that's Hollywood, family values and the book publishing business. The lions and the lambs and all that.

It seems to concentrate on Osteoarthritis, which I guess is what most pets get, although how would I know. All I can say for sure is that the book smells pretty good and the pages don't dissolve in spit.

But check back in a week (or two), if I have a couple of good days.
