Dear Ms. Meniscus,

My parents won't let me go out or even talk to this guy that I really like, because he's 18. I don't see what the big deal are we're only 2 Years apart! They just like to control me. He's very nice to me and always buys me things and we have a lot in common, am I right or are they?

-Under Age

Dear Under Age,

Well, Ms. Meniscus believes that a two year age difference is not a big deal if both parties in the relationship are reasonable, mature participants. Ms. Meniscus suggests that you sit down with your parents and have a conversation to address their issues with your boyfriend. Perhaps some compromise can be reached so that both you and your parents are satisfied.

Dear Ms. Meniscus,

How do I handle a roommate who I've been friends with for so long that keeps leaving away messages with advice or words of wisdom for me to see? The away messages make her sound like she has a "holier than thou" attitude when she really is the person with a very screwed up and dysfunctional life. I was wondering if you could give me a good away message quote about people like her. Thanks!!!!

-Unnecessary Advice

Dear Unnecessary Advice,

Ms. Meniscus advises that you not get involved in an away message battle with your roommate. If she is just leaving these away messages for you to see and you are reading them, then she is getting what she wants. Instead Ms. Meniscus believes you should ignore these messages and move on. Another option is sitting down with your roommate and having a discussion as to why she feels the need to direct these messages at you. If she is really your friend, then she will respect the fact that you do not appreciate her preaching to you about how to live your life.

Dear Ms. Meniscus,

I have a boyfriend and he's going to turn 17 this month. Can he get in trouble for being with me. What are the age differences? Thanks

-Trouble with 17

Dear Trouble with 17,

Ms. Meniscus believes that the laws regarding intimate relationships between underage people differ from state to state. Ms. Meniscus advises that if you are significantly younger than your boyfriend, then perhaps you should consider avoiding intimacy so that there are no legal troubles for your boyfriend.
