In the future, she would like to work in local government or for a volunteer organization that lobbies for the disabled. Currently, she is a representative for her university disability/medical condition/learning difficulty group. "I do think of others in a kinder way because of my arthritis," Alex says. "So although I don't want to have arthritis any more, I'm sure glad I have had it -- I just think I've had enough now."
