It’s hard to stay cool these days – with temperatures soaring well into the 90’s in New York! Sometimes I wonder if I’m better off staying put in a cold shower, but the mission has been to get to the beach or to a pool as often as possible!

The problem with temperatures like this is that it keeps us from staying active. I don’t want to move, no less go to the gym, do errands, etc. – because it feels like I’m in a furnace whenever I step outside.

And that wouldn’t be enough for us New Yorkers. Heat and humidity are OK. We get the added bonus of trash and smell that piles as high as the eye can see…and as far away as the nose can smell. It’s all part of what makes summertime in New York City some of the most fun. Not really.

I have been feeling OK though, knock-on-wood, with some new medication and a better effort made to stick to actually taking it. Hopefully things will stay as they are, though you never know with a disease like arthritis.

But for an hour this weekend I forgot all about any problem I could even consider having, when I visited my sister-in-law Becky and my brother Brian, and their new beautiful baby boy Braden. That makes 4 nieces and nephews from my brother and sister. All I wish of them is good health, happiness, and a safe and peaceful world to grow up in.
