I believe that the government should help educate people to the fact that Arthritis is not something that comes with aging only. but rather that there are children with arthritis and productive adults who cannot contribute to our society because of Arthritis. Also there should be more Federal funding for Arthritis research as there is for Cancer, Heart disease and AIDS.

It's very difficult to live with the realization that whatever limitations i have now are most probably going to get worse.

I am writing again to ask about help with arthritis. I have osteoarthritis in my lower back. While doing a job that required alot of lifting and bending I had terrible back pain. I had to quit this job because of this. I also read a book called Arthritis Cure and another one by the same author. Very good reading. I started taking glucosomine and chondrotin and after the first bottle I no longer have the pain and have stopped taking the medicine. Why can't the FDA make studies and approvals on these kinds of things that help so many people? If you read the books you can see that taking pain medicines that are over the counter can have long term affects when taken for long periods. Please read these books and help the many people who have arthritis. If these could be made available thru perscription it would be more affordable for a lot of people. If these things work, why not help us? You too may have arthritis someday.

I am a true believer that unless anyone with any authority suffers with arthritis, there is never going to be a cure. Therefore I would be wasting my time & his. I might better harp on him about our goverment helping with prescription drugs.
